Sorry to tell you....

Guzzlers great special of 2 for the price of one has ended. Boo hoo. Anyway, the food is good and I hear tell the Sunday Karaoke is very entertaining (from 3pm onwards). And when the Grand Prix seasons starts up again, you can go along and watch it on their big screen. Enjoy.

Olivello Restaurant

This is somewhere between Cape Town and Stellenbosch (don't know if I could find my way there again, but if you need directions, check their website at www.olivello.co.za).
A friend recently celebrated her 60th birthday here. What a lovely venue. It rained that day so that had a cozy fire inside, but on a summer day there are spots to sit out on the verandah and a lovely little dam right outside (I think I saw some kids doing some boating on this?).
It was a Sunday and we had their Mediterranean Table buffet, which was totally delicious, with soup, antipasto, and main course. All had an enormous array to choose from. I found the Main course buffet really interesting - not the usual stuff. You could have venison, bobotie, and a lovely lamb dish (I think it was called mediterranean lamb, done with olives, peppers and aubergines. It was delicious).
I will certainly be back there in the future.

Harbour House, Kalk Bay

Just so you can see, yes, I do know about other restaurants. :-) This is one of my favourites, situated right (yes, right) next to the sea at the junction of Kalk Bay & the road to Clovelly (look it's worth finding it for yourself, see :-). I see at the moment they have a wonderful special, 2 course meal for R140,00. (They have a special on a 3 course meal too, but I forgot the details. I'sa bad girl). Enjoy.

The first little gem

The first little gem I want to share with you (and those of you behind the Boerewors curtain and the Oaks of Newlands may not have discovered that we have some really nice restaurants on the west coast seaboard (that’s the larney way of saying Milnerton and Table View )! Well, to get to the details, this little establishment has a wonderful special offer (all day, every day, no questions asked). You get 2 meals for the price of one, and you don’t have to both have the same thing. You only pay for the most expensive meal ordered and the other person gets whatever they order free! (Why have specials, when everything is on special!) I think it’s a great deal.
And if you are a Grand Prix fan, there is a big screen with regular screenings of the latest races….. and all the other sports as well, when they are on. And they have regular entertainment. Something not to be missed is the Sunday afternoon Karaoke show (with Eddie the owner in full swing). If enough of you ask me, maybe he will let me upload his video of his Rod Stewart rendition in red tights . Oh, yes, before I forget, details are as follows:
